All Harvest Moon 3DS stuff!

Hey guys!

I'm so sorry for the late bit of news as of late. I've been super tied down with real life problems and anything virtual related, I haven't been able to touch for the past week and a half. I'm so sorry, but at the same time super excited! I have some good news and some bad news. I'll start with the bad news first. If you guys remember, I told you guys last post that the Harvest Moon First Earth/Land of Origin has been announced by Marvelous AQ (their new name). Well apparently it was supposed to be released during the end of 2011, but now its going to be released in Japan around Feb 2012. My bad:

February 2012!!!!

It got pushed back a good ways, but its still in the workings! In fact, I have a video for you guys. It shows how the crop system works, the basic animals, the feel of the game, the graphics capabilities and two of the characters. It seems beautiful and is definately the most pretty Harvest Moon game on a hand held yet.

Video

It seems great and I'm definitely excited! Wait.. hm.. this actually seems like good news.. but its bad cause the date got pushed back. Well some news is better than no, so I guess I should have said I have good news for you guys only. Well you got to see a cool video, so I know I'm not complaining!

Now the other bit of news is this. Apparently the 3DS version for the Tale of Two Towns is going to finally have a set release date. We were all bummed when we heard that our 3DS copy wasn't going to come out with the DS version and no news came out for a while. Well, if you guys haven't read my twitter update (which I did in class.. haha.. I hope my teacher isn't mad at me for it) it now has a set release date!!!
What is it guree?!?! Stop stalling! you say? Okay, I'll shout it out for you! Its:

November 1st 2011!!!

That's right! Only another good 12 more days to go.. well actually almost 11 days.. if I'm doing my math right. Its late and I'm sorry if I'm off by a day or two! So if you guys somehow defeated Rune Factory Tides of Destiny as well as Harvest Moon Tale of Two Towns DS version then here's your other game to anticipate. I personally didn't get to go that far with Tale of Two Towns because my schedule won't let me, but I try to sneak every bit of time I can on it. As for my Rune Factory Tides of Destiny... I still haven't picked it up yet... haha. Or if you didn't get a plushie last time with your DS copy, maybe you'll get one with your 3DS one copy! (I certainly hope so!)

Thanks for reading, and I hope you keep coming back. I'll stalk more sites as soon as I can.

Harvest Moon 3DS aka First Earth is Announced!

That's right folks! The 3DS version for Harvest Moon got announced just today! It appears the title is now called Harvest Moon: First Earth. Here's the Japanese logo.

Why only the Japanese logo you ask? Well, it got announced by Famitsu and its only so far in Japan. In fact its not even out yet, and the website has practically nothing on it. Whats the website you ask? Here:http://www.bokumono.com/series/hajimari/ yup. there's nothing but a few pictures to whet our appetite.

Here's a few pictures on whats to come, if you are clicking the link:

Well there you have it. From a blog that i read, it seems that this harvest moon is going to be more focused on changing your appearance and moving your stuff around. You can actually pick the design of you're own character... kind of like how you get to design your character before playing an MMORPG. Its going to be heavily influenced for custimizing. Items, clothes, your house and of course romance and the dating game is still there too! oh and i know you can change your hair.. maybe like Animal Crossing!.... I knw personally I cant wait! So far, it has the ambigious release date of: Early 2012 in Japan only!

well hopefully that means America isn't that far off!
Edit update!: I found an image of the game online from Famitsu

Harvest Moon Tides of Destiny Pushed Back, and Tale of Two Towns out of Stock!

You read the title correctly! It seems that Harvest Moon Tides of Destiny has been pushed back for Oct 11 instead of September 27th. This is what Natsume's facebook page says!

"Currently Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny Wii & PS3 are in production. They will not be available at retail on the 27th of September, however they will arrive October 11th. Unfortunately this is the busy time of year when a lot of companies are producing titles; we have to wait our turn.)"

Boo! Right?!!  You guys can stare at the box art picture and drool about it, until the date arrives. I know I'll glance it every so often!

On the bright side, Natsume has actually successfully released Tale of Two Towns on the day they said they were going to, without pushing back, which is a first for them on Harvest Moon! But all of you guys who are only interested in Rune Factory games.. well it only got pushed back about a week and a half, and if we could wait a whole year for it, we can wait another 2 weeks right? It'll be torture all the same though! Now for all of you guys who want to preorder the Tale of Two Towns game, apparently its out of stock.

I guess that's a good thing since Harvest Mooon Tale of Two Towns did well, and we might be having a whole new crowd of people joining this Harvest Moon crazy fan club, but ... well this is what Natsume's facebook page says!

"We would like to extend a huge thanks to all our fans who pre-ordered Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns for DS from our online store! Due to this overwhelming demand, we are currently out of stock of the game, but we should be getting a new shipment in soon!'"

and then

"No need to panic! If you've already pre-ordered Two Towns from the Natsume store, your copy is guaranteed and mailed out. We are currently out of stock and cannot accept further orders. Right now the tentative date we'll open sales back up on the Natsume Store is Sept 30th. Thanks everyone for your questions :)"

Yea... well thats all I have for you guys! Now you can go and play your copy of Tale of Two Towns.. if you guys have it and ignore the rest of the world again. Ahhh~~

Harvest Moon Tale of Two Towns is Out!

That's right guys! The DS version of the Harvest Moon Tale of Two Towns is finally out, and we can all rush on over to the store to hurry and buy the game so we can go into our room and crawl into the bed and just play.... despite the fact that one might have a load of math homework to do... >.>

Haha, no I haven't bought the game yet, but I really want to, and I can't wait! but for now, I am both broke and have no time to buy the game, but since I already have it pre ordered, it should all be fine, and I'll get it once I have more money saved up!...

So have fun with the game, and tell me your first impression of it so far!

Just a Whole Mess of Updates!!

Natsume has made it final! Harvest Moon Tale of Two Towns finally has a release date! Its set to be ..wait for it:

9/20/2011

That's right folks(oh, I''m talking like one of my Communications teacher!), it'll be out in around Three weeks! and all us Harvest Moon fans, can just go wild now! Who's exited? I'm definitely exited!

Now here's another part to the news that might kind of bum you out...., despite Natsume finally deciding upon a release date, we can all expect the game to be delayed a few times, since Natsume seems to have always done in the past. It's practically famous for it..

Ah well, some release date is better than none. And this is the final piece of news. Natusme said they were going to originally release Harvest Moon Tale of Two Towns for both the DS and the 3DS at the same time, but it seems that only the DS version will be released on the September 20th of 2011! So all of you guys who were expecting to buy the game for the 3DS, we all have to wait a little longer! But I guess its better to wait for a game and have it come out fine, than have it come out early with all its glitches and such. Remember, the 3DS version has never been released in even Japan yet, so Natsume is practially remaking the game completely since the 3DS's graphics and gameplay and such is very different from the DS. So we can all wait for that, and hope that Natsume doesn't glitch it up too badly.

Now, I know this is very behind, but Rune Factory 4 is in the process of being created by Natsume and its for the 3DS! This is all very exciting, but so far, now new news has been put up for it! Here are some photos:

That's right! You can actually play as a girl in this game! Finally, Rune Factory brings female roles! Personally, as a female, I'm very excited!  And I know what you're thinking! This game is so freaking gorgeous! Who wouldn't want to play it?!?!

Apparently, in this game, you're a Prince/Princess and you're goal is to use your Prince Points (even if you're a girl!) to rebuild the town and make it better! Sounds fascinating!

Here's Marvelous' Official Website: http://www.mmv.co.jp/special/game/3ds/runefactory4/

Yea, not much for now, and its all in Japanese but hey, the opening and Visuals look really amazing!

Finally, We all know that Rune Factory Oceans (for the wii/ps3) has been out for a while in Japan! Right?!??
Well, it seems that Natsume has finally given it a release date as well! If you go to their official Facebook Page, its says that Rune Factory Oceans, translated into now Tides of Destiny is now set to be released Sept. 27! oh, sorry once again:
9/27/2011
Pretty exciting right?!?! Well here's a montage of photos of Rune Factory Tides of Destiny for you! Maybe it'll quell your excitement or only rekindle your flame! Its up to you. Personally, I'm tempted to jump on my search engine and look for more! But pasting that much will take too much space... lol:

All these Sept. Release dates makes me so happy! Its like Natsume's personal birthday gift to me for being a  Harvest Moon Fan!
Well thats it! Its not as much as i'd like, so you guys will have to deal with me as I stalk around other sites for more info.

Until next time!

Rush of News!

Kay guys, I know I haven't been talking about much, but I have a whole mess of news to share with you.

As I have mentioned, Gamestop has set the release date for Harvest Moon Tale of Two Towns to be around 9/13. Natsume hasn't made it official, but its a date to work with right? so Far, Natsume still didn't give us a date themsevles other than late summer, but the early Fall one is good enough to work with as of right now.
You can preorder now at Gamestop!

Now there is some buzz going on about Rune Factory as well.
Rune Factory Tides of Destiny: This is set to be released sometime soon. Its in development at Natsume, but Gamestop has already made it available for preordering, though i haven't checked its official release date yet.
Rune Factory 4:  This title is also in development by Marvelous for the 3DS. We dont' know much about it, other than the fact that you can play as either boy or the girl (both are very cute btw). Hopefully, we'll get more news on it, so yay!

Finally, Marvelous hasn't talked about the offical Harvest Moon 3DS yet, though the creator of Harvest Moon is excited about a certain work they have been working on for the 3DS. We've all got our fingers crossed that's its Harvest Moon 3DS, and that we hear something about it sometime 2012.

Finally, the Nintendo company has come to talk about the release of their new home platform console, the Wii U. The Wii U sounds like a wonderful device, so I hope that it'll turn okay for them. The Nintendo 3DS sales haven't doing so hot, but maybe with this Harvest Moon Tale of Two Towns title, we Harvest Moon fans can help boost up the sales a bit! The Wii U means there's a possiblity for great new Harvest Moon games, so keep those fingers crossed!

Harvest Moon Tale of Two Towns Release Date!

Hello guys! Its been a while, and no news had been coming as of much. I myself have been engulfed with school work and club activites and such so I am very sorry for the lack of news. Well, I would like to talk about Harvest Moon Twin Villages which will be translated as Harvest Moon Tale of Two Towns in America by Natsume!

That's right! Harvest Moon is getting released, finally, in America! The release date is still somewhat foggy, but it is confirmed that the game will come to both the DS and the 3DS this summer of 2011! How exciting! Well, hoping to keep you more updated! Thank you!

HMNews: Twin Village and Harvest Moon 3DS.

Twin Village Section: I know that Grand Bazaar came out not too long ago, but Harvest Moon Twin Villages came out in japan a bit before Grand Bazaar hit America. Well, no news of Twin Village is out yet, and many fans are speculative that it will be released somewhere late 2011 to 2012. I strongly agree as well, since it took nearly two years for Grand Bazaar to reach America. Maybe not, but to us fans, the wait is even LONGER filled with our anticipation and hopes. If i find anything, i'll post it up right away!

if you're curious to how the games might be, i found a review about it done by someone else. all credit goes to her/him. Its in two parts.
part one: http://www.tehvidya.com/2010/11/harvest-moon-twin-villages-i-dont-like-it/#comment-276
part two:http://www.tehvidya.com/2010/11/harvest-moon-twin-villages-more-reasons-why-i-dont-like-it/

this review gave a general feel to the game. i hope it helps a bit for the more curious.

Harvest Moon 3DS: YES! For sure that Harvest Moon 3DS is coming out. Marvelous is working on the developments of the game the last time i checked. so 3DS is coming out this march, and that means, that HM3DS can be expected somewhere late 2012 to early 2013 maybe? which means around 2014-15 for us America. Woot! Still, we have Rune Factory Oceans to come out and keep us busy if you count Rune Factory in any related-ness to harvest moon ( i do, its called a fantasy harvest moon after all), and hopefully Twin Villages before that. Rune Factory 3 was pretty good, though the story line was a bit shorter than hoped and GB is still out there to keep us entertained for our HMHearts.

Till next time some HMNews comes drifting by

HM GB: Harvest Moon Grand Bazaar

Design/Graphics: 95

This is by far, the prettiest Harvest Moon game i played for a portable (which is the only Harvest Moon that i DO play). the trees sway in the wind. the water ripples, the flowers bloom and the snowmans stare. I'm not too sure how much a DS can handle, but I'd say that this game was simply amazing in the graphics department. It has a soft feel that makes you feel comfortable and happy inside.

Features/Possibilities: 80

The point of this Harvest Moon is to sell things in your bazaar. Sounds interesting huh? it is, and its simply adorable when you see your character ringing her/his heart out for the customers to come and buy your stuff.

But they took out mining in this game which was kind of a bummer, and fishing is limited to only a few places. The items all have rankings of stars from .5 to 5 and its okay, cept when you have to carry fish till bazaar time (which is once a week) and you run out of room since different fishes and differents ranks don't mesh at all. Its not like sunshine islands where you could just squish everything together, so you need a lot of space for that.

There are windmills that you use for the game to make/ferment things and its a interesting new experience, though it takes forever and i mean FOREVER for some of the stuff to actually be created. But the windmills make more money than simple crops and sell for more in the bazaar.

you get cats and dogs to take care of your sheep and chicken and once they're trained, they'll take out the livestock for you. very handy and no more dragging the chicken out one by one when your cats have been trained. Its a very nice feature that i welcomed greatly in harvest moon.

You can also jump in this game (double jump) though it isn't a very needed feature and you can catch bugs, though one bugs looks like the other and you can't really tell if you caught one already or not.
No upgrades are needed except the expansion of your fields, creation of basment and expansion of your storage. There is a horse racing section too that comes a long later as well.

oh and when you throw something, you don't lose it. THAT was a much needed thing in harvest moon. animal or item they make a boing sound and bounce when you toss them on the ground.

This game had a lot of new features, and lost some few, classic (?), features that older harvest moon games used to have.

Characters/Bios: 45

The characters in this town were very two-dimensional and i was sorely disappointed. They're cute in their own ways, but don't go any deeper than that. Have an internal problem? they talk to you about it in a very light hearted sort of way that makes it not that big of a deal (if there IS any problems at all). They were too happy go lucky and too ... naive?

there are guys and girls you can marry since times have changed in harvest moon here goes.

Ivan: He's the teacher of the game. Kind older brother type.
Freya: The independent woman in this game. She has long brown hair and gives off an air of elegance.
Dirk: The boyish younger brother type. Ivan's younger brother. Wears a hat with a feather in it.
Antoinette: the goth-ish girl in this game. a designer with a social problem like personality. has blue short hair.
Sherry: the mayors daughter. perfect goody goody i'd say.
Lloyd: the mysterious guy in this game. Wears a turban with glasses. always work with him.
Angelo: the artist. kind of lazy and laid back with long brown hair and an orange/yellow berrett
Daisy: the hotel maid. cutesy, blond curly short hair. loves sweet and wears a white and pink /striped maid outfit.
Amir: the foreign prince. dark skin and white hair.
Emiko: a priestess of sorts. long black hair with traditional (japanese?) dress. doesn't know much about outside world.

yes, compared to FoMT, this is a much shorter character bio. the characters don't really go much deeper than that. maybe as i play deeper in, an epiphany will hit me. They were cute, but nothing staggering. I mean sunshine islands didn't have deep characters either, but SI had more realistic ones. GB characters were fine, just not very interesting to talk to/ marry.

plus the mayor kind of ticked me off. i don't know whyyy.

Comparisons/Gamplayabilty: 40

The most recent HM i played, and the one that disappointed the most.

It didn't have any mines and if compared to SI/IoH it lacks by a lot. There were upgrades for this game, no sprites, no goddess, no shipping guy. by far the graphics were the best, but the characters lacked dept, the place was too small and the .... kay this is really disorangized. i'll put it like this.

The graphics were really good and it was very pleasing to see. i was very happy when i first started playing the game. but the fishing was inconvienent. There are only four fishing spots and you need multiple different rods to catch different fish and you can only cook like 5 of them.
the map was completely useless compared to SIs maps and the town and are was so small. there are six places overall. that's even less than mineral town which had 8 places to explore.
the characters were bland and you diddn't really feel connected to them all. when the characters were at red heart, you couldn't even tell that they liked you. it was barely noticeable and didn't help motivation wise for marriage.
The herding for the animals was a splendid idea. i really liked that.
you only have one watering place again. i liked the fact that you could draw water from any source of water, but not in this game. its like SI where you HAVE to get it from one area. kind of bothersome.
there are so much more fruits and vegetables you can grow which is nice.
the animals look the same as SI, but that's not too bad.
no more shipping bin guys. you have to store everything (till you run out of room, which you will find is QUITE often) to sell at the bazaar once a week.
time goes by 1 min = 1 sec in real life. Its very tiring and slow, and you find it hard to fill the days...
different levels of winds and you can actually go out in a storm day, though it doesn't matter since your farm doesn't ever fill up with weeds and rocks and your animals don't get herded on stormy days. also, it's pointless cause your barn is attached to your house so you can take care of them without ever going outside. wish they had thought of that for ALL the previous games, but no. i really liked that.

if i think of more, i'll write about it.

Guree Factor: 30

okay, its really low, i know and sorry if my review came off as negative. its just, i REALLY didn't like this game. i had my moments, but it wasn't really worth it. the characters were boring, the farming was bleh, the town was bleh. i don't know.

and the thing that pissed me off was two things. one, the time goes by WAY too slowly in this game. you know in harvest moon games, when winter came along (like in FoMT) you'd have NOTHING to do. you'd run out very quickly? that's waht happens in this game, but its EVERY SINGLE DAY. and winter, you jsut wake up feed animals give gifts, sleep. literally. the whole 1min=1sec thing really ticked me off sooo much. you finish everything by 10am and till 5 you have nothing to do. why wait till five? you can water your plants again to make them produce faster. but oh gawd there is nothing to do between those times. i talk to the villagers, give gfits, catch bugs collect items, sell the items and bugs, go around and talk to more people jump into the river and hope for something lucky item take a shower jump into rivers some more, collect more bugs talk to more people. and bam, its like 2pm. so i go around and talk to more people and catch more bugs and jump into more river and you got the picture.. then you get the animals and its not that bad, considereing it takes like 2 -4 hours to brush and milk all your cows and sheep! yea, thats right, you sit there for 2-4 mins brushing cow. its a process i found very painful. it was torture to go up to a cow and watch your character brush it for like 5 seconds when i became very accostumed to brush move brush move brush move. but it fills your time, so i always made sure i put a LOT of effort into brushing my cows, taking care of my chickens. then i'd go around and collect and give and sell and such then come back and re water. then train my cat and dog till bed time. it got VERY tedious after a while and there were times i wanted to fling my DS across the room and jump on it with very hard shoes on. i had to plan how to make my days LAST LONGER, when normally it was how much stuff could i cram in one day. normally, i used to go to bed in HM like around 2 am trying to finish one more thing, but in this game as soon as it hit 6 i got to bed. until the animals, then bed time was around 10.

second annoying factor: the brushing the cows part. oh my a;ghjl;ertio;ajd;ra. i REALLY hated that part soo much it became a part two. i felt like my life was wasted brushing those stupid cows. and they move so much so that you lose track of ones you brushed and ones you don't. so i'd brush atleast 12 times even if i only have 6 cows. gawwwww. and the game lets you brush them for those 5 secs and you don't know you already brushed them till the music sign doesn't come up. and even if you did know, you couldn't stop yourself. the whole time thing was okay, when i got the animals and thigns to do, but after brushign those cows for a week, i wanted to shoot myself, and it isn't just a way of speaking. i really wanted to stab myself and let the misery end!

Total: 2.9/5

Yea, i really didn't like this game. It had nice features, but the features were ruined by gameplay and character which makes a game good. i mean no matter how wonderful the graphics are, it doesn't matter if the gameplay sucks. i mean, if a gameplay is amazing than we ignore the horrible graphics and that is why some of us still those old favorites. this didn't cut it for me. i tried to play this game again and again, and gave up after the fourth try. it didn't have that harvest moon magic. but that's just me, guree. you might like it, though i think most weren't as satisfied either.
